Trivalization:Fanya Daniels

I agree with Lorraine on this chapter...because I don't understand how a womens issues are considered TRIVIAL!!! I guess because all that we must go through doesn't apply to men so thats why are issues are not allowed to be in the public sphere. Are issues are considered private...and that not only includes sex, domestics, and abuse. Women have been treated bad for a long time and it was hard to deal with because the issues could not be discussed. I agree with the argument that personal should be brought into the public sphere because we are a great part of society, bearing children, house work relationships and connections. Of course we have other things to offer also besides reproduction and maintenance. We are very well capable of having an intelligent conversation about worldly events and other politics. Look at Hilary Clinton!!!

I completely agree with Fanya. It is 2008 and women are making history this very second. It is terrible to hear that womens issues are considered trivial. There are infinite public spheres and importance of different issues vary with each sphere. Classifying womens issues as trivial is ignorant in more ways then one. For starters, let us open our minds to multiple public spheres, and accept that womens issues CAN be important in some spheres...(to say the very least). And secondly, abuse, women's rights, futire female presidential candidates are of no importance? In what sphere is this valid? Please elaborate. In closing this was a great topic to make us open our minds about women, but about other spheres, and topics that weigh of importance to others. Let's learn from each other, there's nothing wrong with an open mind and a more cosmopolitan lifestyle.
