Davey Neubauer Trivialization

This chapter was very imformative, and i liked how Mckee gave me the point of view from the women of yester year. Mckee adresses the argument between what is seen as an aceptable topic to bring into the public spehere and what to keep in private.

I thought it was typical for the men of the times to controll the political system therefore not willing to listen to what the women have to say. Afterall if "Orgasims" and the role of the "house wifes" is what some women are concerned about than how is it not appropriate to bring these things into the open. Because as Mckee states someone who does not follow anything outside if his or her own interests is seen as an idiot.

I thought Mckee's four points were valid about why to bring these issues into the fore front, mainly because women were not being taken seriously, and were looked down upon to bring up abortion, orgasims, housework, and forced sex (rape) up and out into the public spehere forced onlookers, that is men to face upto the events and concerns of not only themselves but the concerns of women as well. It is very ignorant of men to not give women a voice because for some reason we think we are far superior to women. The funny thing is men propibly started to mold themselves into this role in society because they were afraid women were jus as capable as men are. I would hope that if i were living during the times when women had to stand up and speak out for what they believe in I wouldn't be part of the resistance that proclaimed that a womens voice didn't matter.
